The ASVAB is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. It is administered annually to more than one million military applicants, high school, and post-secondary students.

The NJ Department of Education has established that student results on the ASVAB Language Arts and Mathematics components is one of several student assessments that may be used to meet the NJDOE High School graduation testing requirement.

The Paper and Pencil ASVAB is a traditional test that takes about 3 hours to complete. You are allowed to review your answers on the P&P-ASVAB. However, you cannot go back to an earlier test section, or proceed to the next test until instructed to do so. If you run out of time on the P&P-ASVAB, it is to your advantage to fill in random guesses for the remaining items, as there is no penalty for guessing.

Please note that you ARE NOT PERMITTED to use a calculator during the exam!
